Welcome to Insect Farm Hub, a digital platform operated by Manna Insect Oy (referred to as "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Insect Farm Hub website and services worldwide. By creating an account or using our services, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully and contact us if you have any questions.
Account Registration: To access Insect Farm Hub, you must create an account with accurate, up-to-date information. You agree to provide truthful details (such as a valid email and any other required info) and to update them if they change. You must be of legal age in your country (or have parental consent) to use our platform.
Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Keep your password secure and do not share it with others. Any activity under your account is your responsibility, whether or not you authorized it. If you suspect unauthorized use of your account, notify us immediately so we can help secure it.
One Account Per User: You agree not to create multiple accounts for dishonest purposes or impersonate any other person or entity. Your username must not violate anyone's rights or be offensive. We may reclaim or require you to change a username that violates someone's trademark or privacy rights.
User Responsibilities: You are responsible for all usage of the platform through your account. This means you must comply with these Terms and ensure that anyone using your account (with or without your permission) also follows the rules. Failure to adhere to the account obligations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
Insect Farm Hub offers two purchasing models: Monthly Subscriptions and Credit-Based Purchases. Below are the terms for each:
Monthly Subscriptions: When you subscribe to Insect Farm Hub on a monthly basis, you will be charged a recurring fee each billing cycle (e.g. every 30 days). Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each subscription period unless you cancel beforehand. This means your credit card or chosen payment method (processed via PayPal or other payment provider) will be charged at the start of each renewal term. You must cancel the subscription before your next billing date to avoid being charged for the next period. We will clearly inform you of the price and billing interval when you sign up. Unused benefits of a subscription period do not carry over after renewal (e.g. any monthly usage limits or credits reset each period).
Credit Purchases: Instead of a subscription, you may buy digital credits which can be redeemed for content or tools on Insect Farm Hub. Credit purchases are one-time payments (also handled by our third-party payment processor). Using Credits: Once purchased, credits will be added to your account and can be used to access premium content or features. Credits are tied to your account and are non-transferable. We do not impose any maintenance fees on credits, and they remain available on your account indefinitely (unless we specify an expiration in special promotional cases, which would be communicated).
Payment Processing: Payments for subscriptions and credits are processed by third-party providers, such as PayPal. You must provide a valid payment method and authorize us (and our payment processor) to charge the subscription fees or credit purchase amount. All pricing is listed in [applicable currency] and may be subject to taxes as required by law. By making a purchase, you agree to the pricing and payment terms applicable to your subscription plan or credit package. If a payment fails (e.g. due to an expired card), we may attempt to notify you and suspend or downgrade your service until payment is resolved.
Changes to Fees: We reserve the right to adjust pricing for subscriptions or credits. If we change the subscription fee for the next renewal period, we will give you advance notice (for example, by email or through the service) so you can review the changes and cancel if you do not agree. Price changes will not affect the current subscription period you've already paid for.
No Unlawful Charges: You agree not to use an unauthorized or stolen payment method. We work to prevent fraud, and any fraudulent payment activity could lead to account termination and legal action.
When using Insect Farm Hub, you must follow these rules of acceptable use. This ensures a safe and positive experience for all users:
Lawful Purposes Only: You may not use the Service for any illegal activities or fraudulent schemes. Any content or conduct that violates laws or regulations (local, national, or international) is strictly prohibited. This includes (but is not limited to) promoting criminal activity, fraud, gambling where illegal, or selling prohibited goods or services.
No Harmful or Abusive Content: Do not upload, post, or share content that is harmful, offensive, or violates others' rights. Prohibited content includes anything defamatory or libelous (damaging to someone's reputation), threatening or harassing, hateful or discriminatory, obscene or pornographic, or otherwise objectionable. Insect Farm Hub is meant for constructive content – harassment, hate speech, and exploitation have no place here.
Respect Intellectual Property: Only post or use content that you have rights to use. You may not share content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights. For example, do not upload someone else's copyrighted digital tools or educational materials without permission. If you violate others' IP rights, we may remove the content and take action on your account.
No Technical Abuse: You must not engage in activities that harm our platform or interfere with other users' experience. This includes attempts to introduce viruses or malware, perform hacking, scraping, or unauthorized data mining of the site, or circumvent any security or access controls. Do not attempt to disrupt the Service by overloading it, launching denial-of-service attacks, or using automated scripts in ways that degrade performance. Any such harmful content or technology (like viruses, worms, or Trojan horses) is strictly forbidden.
No Impersonation or Misrepresentation: You should not impersonate any person or organization or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity while using our platform. Also, do not use the Service to deceive others (for example, by posting false information or scams).
Community Etiquette: If Insect Farm Hub includes community features (forums, comments, etc.), use them respectfully. Do not spam other users with unsolicited advertising or repetitive messages. Do not collect or harvest other users' personal information without consent. Treat others with respect and communicate in a civil manner.
We reserve the right to review, moderate, and remove any content that violates these rules or that we find inappropriate. Violations of the Acceptable Use Policy may result in content removal, account suspension, or termination, as described under Termination below.
All content and materials on Insect Farm Hub are protected by intellectual property laws. Here's what you need to know:
Our Content: The Service and its original content (including all text, software, images, graphics, videos, and tools provided by us) are the exclusive property of Manna Insect Oy and its licensors. This content is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws in Finland, the EU, and other countries. Our company name, logo, and any product or service names are our trademarks. You may not use our trademarks or branding without our prior written consent.
Limited License to You: When you subscribe or purchase content on Insect Farm Hub, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the content and tools for your personal or internal business use. This license is for use only – it does not sell or transfer ownership of any intellectual property to you. You may not copy, redistribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content unless we expressly allow it. For example, you shouldn't download and share our digital tool on other platforms or resell our content, as that would violate our rights.
User Content (if applicable): If the platform allows you to create or upload content (such as comments, reviews, or custom project files), you retain ownership of the intellectual property rights in your content. By uploading content, however, you grant us a license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content as needed to operate the service. (For instance, if you post a question or review, you allow us to show it to other users). You promise that you have the necessary rights to any content you post and that it doesn't infringe others' rights.
Copyright Infringement Policy: We respect intellectual property laws and expect users to do the same. If you believe that content on Insect Farm Hub infringes your copyright, please notify us with details. We follow the procedures of the EU Copyright Directive (and the DMCA for U.S. content as applicable) to respond to copyright infringement claims. We may remove or disable access to any infringing material and, in the case of repeat infringement by a user, terminate the user's account.
We strive to keep Insect Farm Hub available and functioning at all times, but we cannot guarantee perfect performance. This section explains the limits of our responsibility:
Service Availability: Insect Farm Hub is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we aim for high availability, we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet all your expectations. There may be occasional maintenance, updates, or technical issues that result in temporary service outages. We will try to inform you in advance of major maintenance downtime, but we reserve the right to perform emergency maintenance without notice to ensure the security or stability of the platform.
No Warranties: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Manna Insect Oy disclaims all warranties, express or implied, regarding the Service. This includes any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. In plain language, we do not make promises that the platform will work perfectly for your needs or that content will be error-free or uninterrupted. For example, we don't guarantee that using our tools will produce any specific results for you or that any errors in the software will be fixed immediately.
Limitation of Liability:We are not liable for certain types of damages or losses. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Manna Insect Oy and its affiliates will not be responsible for any indirect, consequential, exemplary, or special damages arising out of or in connection with your use of Insect Farm Hub. This includes, for instance, loss of profits, loss of data, business interruptions, or costs of procuring substitute services. Our total liability for any claims under these Terms is limited to the amount you have paid us for the service in the last twelve months, or 100 USD if you haven't paid anything. In other words, if something goes wrong, the most we could compensate you is any subscription or purchase fees you've paid to us recently (or a nominal amount if you use a free service).
No Liability for Content: We are not responsible for content provided by third parties or other users. Any opinions, advice, or information expressed by users or third-party content on the platform are those of the respective authors, not of Manna Insect Oy. While we may moderate and remove inappropriate content, you understand that you might encounter content that you find objectionable, and you waive any legal claims against us for any such content, to the extent permitted by law.
Consumer Rights: If you are using our Service as a consumer (not in a business capacity) in certain jurisdictions, you may have specific legal rights that aren't waived by these Terms. For example, consumers in the European Union have certain statutory warranties and rights under consumer protection laws. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit those non-waivable rights. In cases where an exclusion or limitation of liability is not allowed by law, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted.
Both you and Manna Insect Oy have the right to end this agreement under certain circumstances:
By You (Cancellation): You are free to stop using Insect Farm Hub at any time. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue use of the Service or explicitly delete your account via your profile settings. For subscription users, if you cancel, your subscription will not renew after the current paid term, and your access to subscriber content will cease at the end of that term. No further charges will occur after cancellation. (Please note that simply uninstalling an app or closing your browser will not automatically cancel a paid subscription – you must actively cancel through your account settings or by contacting our support.)
By Us (Suspension or Termination): We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or engage in behavior that is harmful to the platform or other users. We may do so immediately without prior notice and without liability to you if you materially breach the Terms. For example, if we find you are hacking the service, sharing pirated content, or harassing other users, we may deactivate your account. In most cases of minor violations, we will send you a warning and/or suspend your account temporarily, but serious or repeat offenses can result in permanent termination.
Effect of Termination: Upon termination (by either party), your right to access and use the Service will end immediately. You must stop using any Insect Farm Hub content or services, and we may disable your account and access credentials. Any content or data you have stored on the platform may no longer be available to you (we recommend that you keep backups of any data you need). We have no obligation to keep your content or account active after termination, except as required by law. However, any provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (such as limitation of liability, governing law, and any licenses you granted to us to use feedback or user content) will remain in effect.
Termination for Convenience: We also reserve the right to discontinue the Insect Farm Hub service (in whole or in part) at our discretion. If we choose to shut down the service entirely, we will give users reasonable advance notice when possible and refund any prepaid portion of subscriptions that can no longer be honored.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Finland, as well as applicable European Union laws and regulations. This choice of law applies no matter what country you reside in, though if you are a consumer, you will also be entitled to the protection of any mandatory provisions of the law in your country of residence.
In the event of any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Insect Farm Hub, we encourage you to contact us first to seek an amicable resolution. If we cannot resolve the issue informally, any legal action shall be brought in the competent courts of Finland (Uusimaa court district), unless applicable law in your country requires that disputes be resolved in your local jurisdiction. By using our service, you consent to the jurisdiction of such courts and waive any objections based on inconvenience of forum, to the extent permitted by law.
International Use: We make no representation that the Service content is appropriate or available for use in all locations. Users who access the Service from outside Finland are responsible for complying with local laws if and to the extent local laws are applicable.
Changes to Terms: We may update or modify these Terms from time to time (for example, to reflect changes in our services or legal obligations). If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on the site prior to the change becoming effective. The latest version of the Terms will always be available on our website with the "Last Updated" date at the top. By continuing to use the Service after any changes take effect, you agree to the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the Service and, if applicable, cancel your subscription.
Entire Agreement: These Terms (along with our Privacy Policy and any applicable additional guidelines or policies) constitute the entire agreement between you and Manna Insect Oy regarding Insect Farm Hub. They supersede any prior agreements or communications on the subject. If any provision of these Terms is held by a court to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to later enforce that or any other part of the Terms. Any waiver of compliance in a particular instance does not mean we will waive compliance in the future.
Contact Information: If you have any questions about these Terms or the Service, please contact us at [Contact Email/Address].
By using Insect Farm Hub, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service. Thank you for using our platform to advance insect farming knowledge!

At Manna Insect Oy, we want you to be satisfied with our Insect Farm Hub digital platform. However, since our products are digital (such as online tools, subscriptions, and content credits), certain restrictions apply to returns and refunds. This policy explains our practices for monthly subscription plans and digital credit purchases. It is designed to be fair and clear, while also aligning with typical industry practices and EU consumer laws for digital goods.
Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase. By subscribing or buying credits, you agree to these terms. If you have any questions or believe you qualify for a refund under these terms, please contact our support team at [support email].
Subscription Service: When you subscribe to Insect Farm Hub on a monthly basis, you gain immediate access to premium digital content and features. Because value is received as soon as the subscription period begins, our refund policy for subscriptions is limited, as described below.
Free Trials: (If applicable) We may offer a free trial period for new subscribers. If you cancel during the free trial, you will not be charged. Once the trial converts into a paid subscription, the below terms apply.
Cancellation of Subscription: You can cancel your monthly subscription at any time. Cancellation stops the auto-renewal of your subscription. When you cancel, you will continue to have access to the subscription features until the end of the current paid billing cycle, after which the subscription will not renew. Cancellation does not retroactively refund the current billing period, but it will prevent future charges. For example, if you cancel in the middle of the month, you will not be charged for the next month, but you also will not receive a refund for the remaining days of the current month.
Refunds for Subscriptions: In line with common digital subscription practices, we generally do not offer refunds for monthly subscription fees once the subscription period has started and access to content has been granted. This means that after your monthly subscription charge has been processed and you have begun using our service for that month, the payment is non-refundable. The rationale is that you have already received the digital service (access to our platform's content and tools) for that period. Even if you do not make full use of the service, as long as the service was available to you, we consider the subscription delivered.
Exception – Early Cancellation Refund: If you were just charged for a new monthly period and you have not yet used the service in that period, we understand you may change your mind. In such cases, contact us within 14 days of the charge and do not use the service (i.e., do not log in or access subscriber-only content). At our discretion, we may provide a refund for that month as a courtesy, especially for first-time requests. This aligns with EU consumer directives, which allow a 14-day withdrawal for digital services if you have not yet begun using them. However, if you have already accessed the service (for example, logged in and used any feature) during that period, this exception will not apply, and no refund can be given (since use has begun, you've waived the withdrawal right by using the digital content).
Annual or Other Long-Term Plans: (If we only have monthly, this may not apply. But in case of annual subscriptions:) For any annual pre-paid subscriptions, we generally allow a full refund if you cancel and request it within the first 30 days of the annual term and you have not made substantial use of the service in that time. If more than 30 days have passed or the service has been heavily utilized, the refund policy for the remaining period is the same as above – we do not issue prorated refunds for unused months, but your cancellation will stop future auto-renewals.
Promotional Offers: If you subscribed using a special promotion (for example, a discounted first month), the refund, if any, will be limited to the amount you actually paid. Any free bonus months are not convertible to cash or refund.
Upgrades/Downgrades: Changing your subscription plan (if different tiers exist) may not be effective until the next billing cycle depending on our platform rules. We do not refund the difference for downgrades mid-cycle; the lower rate will apply next cycle. For upgrades, you may be charged a prorated amount immediately, which is also non-refundable once applied.
Credit System: Insect Farm Hub offers digital "credits" that users can purchase and then spend on individual content items or tools. Credits are a form of digital currency on our platform. Purchasing credits allows immediate access to the ability to unlock content, so our policy treats credits similar to digital goods delivery.
All Sales Final on Credits:Purchases of credit packages are generally final and non-refundable. Once we issue the credits to your account, you have received the digital goods and we cannot "take back" or return those credits in a traditional sense. No refunds will be issued once you have accessed or used any portion of the purchased credits. For instance, if you buy 100 credits and spend some of them to unlock an e-book or tool, we cannot offer a refund on the used portion or on the remaining unused credits in your account.
Exception – Unused Credits: If you purchased credits by mistake or are unsatisfied and have not used any of the credits, you may contact us within 14 days of purchase to request a refund. At our discretion, we may cancel the credit allocation and refund your payment, provided none of the credits were expended and you are within a reasonable timeframe of purchase. If even 1 credit is used to access content, this exception does not apply. Also note: if you have benefited from the purchase (e.g., gained access to a member-only area by virtue of purchasing credits), that may count as usage.
Credit Expiration: Normally, purchased credits do not expire (they remain on your account indefinitely). If for some reason credits come with an expiration (which we would clearly communicate at purchase time), any expired unused credits would not be eligible for refund as they were available for use during the active period.
Gifted Credits or Promotions: Credits received for free (through a promotion or as compensation) are not eligible for any cash refund (they have no monetary value once given as a free gift). They also generally expire as per the promotion terms.
Misuse and Clawback: If we suspect that credit purchases are being misused (for example, fraudulent transactions or exploiting a loophole), we reserve the right to refuse a refund or to deduct credits, and possibly suspend the account pending investigation.
If you believe you are entitled to a refund based on the conditions above (e.g., you were charged but did not use the service, or you haven't used purchased credits), you must contact our customer support to request the refund. Please include the following in your request:
We will review your request against our records (such as login activity logs and credit usage logs). If it meets our policy criteria, we will process the refund. Approved refunds are typically issued to the original payment method. Please allow a reasonable time for the credit to appear on your bank or card statement (this can be 5–10 business days depending on the payment provider, and some payment providers or banks might take slightly longer to post the credit).
If your refund request is outside the policy (for example, asking for a refund after substantial use or long after purchase), we will generally decline the request. However, we may provide credits or other remedies at our discretion if there were extenuating circumstances (such as documented technical issues on our side that made the service unavailable to you). Our goal is to be fair but also consistent.
We want to ensure there are no surprises with subscription renewals. Auto-Renewal means your subscription will continue until you actively cancel.
Automatic Renewals: As noted in our Terms, all monthly (and annual, if applicable) subscriptions on Insect Farm Hub are set to auto-renew by default for your convenience. This means at the end of each billing cycle, we will charge your saved payment method for the next cycle's fee automatically, unless you have cancelled the subscription prior to the renewal date. To avoid being charged for a renewal, you must cancel before your next billing date. For example, if your monthly subscription started on the 10th of the month, it will renew on the 10th of each subsequent month; to avoid the charge on June 10, you should cancel by June 9.
Cancellation Process: You can cancel your subscription at any time by logging into your account settings and selecting "Cancel Subscription," or by contacting our support. The cancellation will take effect at the end of your current paid period. You will not lose access immediately; you'll simply not be charged again thereafter. We recommend cancelling at least 24 hours before the renewal date to ensure the cancellation processes in time (especially if done through a third-party app store, if applicable, which might have different processing times). Once cancelled, you will receive a confirmation email for your records.
No Refund for Late Cancellation: If you forget to cancel and your subscription renews, and you notice a charge, please contact us as soon as possible. As per our policy, we do not automatically refund renewal charges, because the subscription service for the new period has already begun. However, if only a very short time has passed and there has been absolutely no usage, you can request consideration for a refund of the latest charge. We understand mistakes happen and will review on a case-by-case basis, but we cannot guarantee approval. Ultimately, it is your responsibility to manage your subscription settings to prevent unwanted renewals.
Notification of Renewal: We may send you a reminder email before an annual subscription renewal or in certain jurisdictions where advance notice is required for subscription renewals. Monthly renewals may not have advance email reminders since they occur so frequently, so please mark your calendar or keep track of your renewal dates.
Changes to Auto-Renew Terms: If any aspect of our auto-renewal process changes (for example, if the renewal period or price changes), we will inform you in advance according to applicable regulations. You will always have the option to cancel if you do not agree to the changes.
Because the products on Insect Farm Hub are digital content and services, there is nothing physical to "return." The moment you gain access to our online materials or tools, the service is considered delivered. Under EU law, digital content that is provided immediately upon purchase is generally not subject to the usual 14-day right of withdrawal once the download or streaming has started with consumer's consent. By purchasing a subscription or credits and using the platform, you acknowledge that you begin receiving the service right away and thus waive any automatic "cooling-off" cancellation right that would apply if the service hadn't begun.
In summary, we do not offer returns or exchanges on digital products. We only offer refunds in the limited circumstances described above (e.g., unused service after a recent charge). Always make sure that the product (subscription or credits) is what you intend to buy, as accidental purchases might not be refundable if accessed.
If you dispute a charge with your bank or credit card (i.e., initiate a chargeback) without contacting us first, we will assume you have potentially fraudulent intent or severe dissatisfaction. We encourage you to contact us before disputing a charge with your financial institution. Many times, what is perceived as an unauthorized charge is simply an auto-renewal the user forgot about. We can often resolve the issue faster and more amicably directly. Unwarranted chargebacks that violate this Refund Policy may result in immediate termination of your account.
If a chargeback is granted by your bank in your favor, and we believe it was against our policy, we reserve the right to refuse service to you in the future or to recover the cost by other means. We prefer to handle everything above-board and through this policy to avoid such conflicts.
Our business and legal requirements may change over time, and we may update this Return and Refund Policy accordingly. If we make material changes, we will notify users by posting a notice on our website or via email. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect the latest revision. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the service after an update signifies your acceptance of the revised terms.
If you have any questions about our Return and Refund Policy or wish to discuss a specific refund case, please contact us:

Manna Insect Oy ("we" or "us"), the operator of Insect Farm Hub, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect from users of our digital platform, how we use and share that data, and the rights you have regarding your information. We comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws, and we aim to be transparent and fair in our data practices for all our global users. We encourage you to read this policy carefully. By using Insect Farm Hub, you consent to the data practices described here.
We only collect data that is necessary to provide and improve our services. This includes:
Personal Identification Information: When you create an account or interact with our platform, you may provide certain personal details. This can include your name, email address, and phone number. We require an email for account login and communication purposes. A phone number might be collected for two-factor authentication or support, if you choose to provide it. We may also collect your country or general location to customize content (for example, showing local language or regional offerings) and for tax or legal compliance.
Location Data: Insect Farm Hub may collect approximate location information. This could be derived from your IP address (which gives a broad geo-location such as city or country) or from information you input (e.g., if you enter your address or choose a location setting in your profile). We do not continuously track your GPS location, but knowing your region helps us comply with regional laws (like showing GDPR consent forms in the EU) and to display content relevant to your area.
Usage Data and User Behavior: We automatically collect some data about how you use our website and services. This data includes technical information like your IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system, as well as usage information such as pages or content you view, the features you use, the time and date of your visits, and the links you click. We also gather analytics on user interactions (for instance, which tools are most popular). We collect this through cookies and similar tracking technologies when you use or view our website. This information helps us understand user behavior and preferences, so we can improve the user experience and fix any issues.
Transaction Data: If you make purchases on Insect Farm Hub (such as buying a subscription or credits), we will record details of those transactions. This includes the products/services purchased, dates and times of transactions, and amounts paid. Important: We do not see or store your full payment card details – those are handled by our payment processor (e.g., PayPal). However, we may store basic payment metadata (e.g., that a purchase occurred, which payment method was used, and an internal transaction ID) to maintain your account history.
Communication Data: If you contact us for support or respond to surveys/feedback requests, we will collect the information you provide in those communications. This might include your email messages, support tickets, or responses to questionnaires about your experience. We use this to address your inquiries and improve our services.
We do not actively collect sensitive personal data such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, health information, or biometric data, as our service typically does not require any of that. Please refrain from providing such sensitive data on the platform.
Manna Insect Oy uses the collected data for the following purposes, in accordance with applicable law:
Providing and Improving the Service: The primary use of your data is to deliver the features and content of Insect Farm Hub to you. For instance, we use your login information (email/password) to authenticate you and let you access your account. If you purchase a digital tool or content, we use your account details to grant you access to that content. We also use usage data to understand how the service is performing and to improve it. For example, if we see many users from a certain region, we might add support for a new language, or if certain features are rarely used, we might streamline them. Overall, data helps us operate the Service smoothly and adapt it to user needs (e.g., managing your account and processing your orders).
Communication: We use your contact information (like email or phone) to send you important notices about the Service. This includes confirmations of purchases, reminders about subscription renewals, security alerts (such as verification codes or notifications of suspicious login attempts), and updates to our terms or policies. We may also send newsletters or promotional emails about new features or content you might be interested in if you have consented to such marketing. You can opt-out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in those emails or adjusting your account preferences.
Payments and Transactions: As mentioned, we process transactions via a secure third-party payment gateway (e.g., PayPal). We use your data to initiate and confirm payments for subscriptions or credits. For instance, when you subscribe, we pass your name and billing information to PayPal to charge your card (all in accordance with their security and privacy requirements). We keep a record of your subscription status to ensure you have continuous access once paid. If there are any billing issues, we may use your contact info to resolve them (for example, emailing you if a monthly payment fails).
Personalization: We might use data like your location or past usage to personalize your experience on Insect Farm Hub. For example, we could show prices in your local currency, auto-select your language if we support it, or recommend content/tools that are relevant to the insect farming interests you've shown on the platform. Any personalization is meant to enhance your use of the service.
Analytics and Development: Internally, we use aggregated usage data and analytical tools to see overall trends and metrics (such as total number of users, popular regions, peak usage times, etc.). This helps in capacity planning and in measuring the success of our platform features. For example, we might analyze how users navigate through a tutorial tool to improve its design. These analytics typically do not identify you as an individual — they are more about broad patterns. We may share anonymous, aggregated statistics (not any personal info) publicly or with partners, for example, "X% of our users are from Europe" or "We have N active users per month," to highlight usage trends.
Compliance and Protection: We may use your information as necessary to comply with legal obligations (such as keeping certain financial records for tax purposes) or to protect our legal rights. For instance, we maintain logs of accesses to detect and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity on accounts. If required by law enforcement or regulators (under proper process), we might have to disclose basic information. Additionally, if needed, we will use data to enforce our Terms of Service (for example, investigating misuse of the platform or dealing with copyright infringement claims).
We will not use your personal data for new purposes that are not compatible with these listed purposes without first obtaining your consent or unless required/permitted by law. We strive to apply the principle of data minimization, meaning we use the least amount of data necessary to accomplish each purpose.
What are cookies? Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to the site owners. Insect Farm Hub uses cookies and similar technologies (like web beacons or local storage) to enhance your experience.
How We Use Cookies: We use cookies to remember your preferences and login session, to keep you logged in as you navigate pages, and to collect data about your visits for analytics. For example, cookies allow us to remember that you're logged in so you don't have to re-enter your password on every page. We also use cookies for gathering website statistics (such as counting visits, seeing which pages are popular, and understanding how users navigate through our site) to improve our service. The data collected via cookies is typically stored in aggregate form and is not used to identify you personally unless necessary for functionality (like a session cookie identifying your account).
Types of Cookies:
Cookie Consent: When you first visit Insect Farm Hub from the EU (or other jurisdictions that require cookie consent), you will see a cookie notice or banner. We will obtain your consent for non-essential cookies (like analytics or advertising cookies, if any). By using our site after seeing the cookie notice, or by clicking "accept" on the banner, you agree to our use of cookies as described. You can always change your mind by adjusting your browser settings to refuse cookies.
Managing Cookies: Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings preferences. You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies (either all cookies or from specific sites). However, please note that if you disable cookies for Insect Farm Hub, some features of the service may not function correctly – for example, you might not be able to stay logged in or use certain interactive features. Check your browser's help documentation for steps on how to manage cookies. Additionally, to opt-out of Google Analytics tracking, you can install a browser add-on provided by Google.
Do-Not-Track Signals: Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that sends a signal to websites requesting not to track your activity. Currently, there is no standard interpretation of DNT signals. While we respect privacy, our site's behavior may not change in response to a DNT signal alone. We continue to monitor developments around DNT standards.
We treat your personal data with care and confidentiality. We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes. However, we do share certain information with third parties in the following circumstances:
Service Providers: We use trusted third-party companies to help us operate Insect Farm Hub and provide our services to you. These include:
We have contracts or data processing agreements with our service providers to ensure they only use your data under our instructions and for the intended purpose. They are required to protect your data and are not allowed to use it for their own purposes.
Within Manna Insect Oy: If Manna Insect Oy has affiliates or partner entities (for example, if we have a parent or subsidiary company, or a partner project under the same ownership), we might share data within our corporate group as necessary. This would also be done in line with this Privacy Policy and with appropriate confidentiality.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (such as a court order, subpoena, or government demand). We will always assess such requests carefully and only provide the minimum data necessary. Additionally, if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, investigate fraud or security issues, or protect users' safety, we may share information with law enforcement or relevant authorities.
Business Transfers: In the unlikely event that Manna Insect Oy undergoes a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your personal data might be among the assets transferred. If that happens, we will ensure the new owner continues to respect your personal data in line with this Privacy Policy, or we will notify you and give you an opportunity to exercise your rights (for example, to delete your data or opt-out) before any changes to privacy practices.
Other than the situations above, we will not share your personal data with third parties. In particular, we do not share your contact information or any personal details with advertisers without your consent. If we ever offer a promotion with a partner and needed to share data, we would ask for your permission first.
When we do share data with third-party processors, we ensure it's protected. For example, we use encryption when sending data to our payment provider, and we only give service providers the information they absolutely need (data minimization). All our service providers are vetted for strong security practices.
Insect Farm Hub is accessible to users around the world. The data we collect from you may be stored and processed in the European Union (since we are based in Finland) or in other countries where our service providers have facilities. Some of these countries might not have the same level of data protection laws as your home country.
However, when we transfer personal data out of the EU/EEA, we take steps to ensure it remains protected. For instance:
By using our service, you understand that your personal data may be transferred to servers located in a different country than your own. Regardless of where it is processed, your data will still be handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy and all applicable privacy laws and regulations.
Data Retention: We will retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. If you cancel your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except to the extent we need to retain it for legal obligations or legitimate business interests. For example, we might retain transaction records for accounting purposes or to comply with tax laws, or logs to enforce our terms and prevent abuse. In general, we aim not to keep data longer than necessary. When we no longer have a need for your personal data, we will securely erase it or anonymize it so you can no longer be identified.
Security Measures: We take the security of your data seriously and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect it. This includes using encryption (HTTPS/TLS) when data is transmitted to our site, so that your data is encrypted in transit. We also store passwords in hashed form and apply other industry-standard security practices to prevent unauthorized access. Our servers are secured and we limit access to personal data to employees or contractors who need it to perform their job (and who are bound by confidentiality). We regularly update our software and infrastructure and perform security assessments to guard against vulnerabilities. However, please be aware that no internet service can be 100% secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security of your information. You should also take precautions, such as choosing a strong password and not sharing it.
Data Breach Procedures: In the unlikely event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law. We have a process in place to handle such incidents, which includes identifying and fixing the issue, and communicating any necessary instructions to users (for example, to reset passwords if needed).
As a user of Insect Farm Hub, especially if you are in the European Union or a region with similar laws, you have certain rights regarding your personal data. We are committed to honoring these rights:
Right of Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. This means you can ask us to confirm if we are processing your data and provide you with a copy of that data, along with information about how we use it. We will provide this information free of charge, usually within 30 days of your request (unless the request is complex, in which case we might need more time and will inform you).
Right to Rectification (Correction): If any of your personal information is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to ask us to correct it. For example, if you change your email or realize we have a typo in your name, you can update your account information directly, or ask us to fix it. We encourage you to keep your profile information current.
Right to Erasure (Deletion): You have the right to request deletion of your personal data, also known as the "right to be forgotten". You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal information. We will do so, provided we don't have a legal obligation to keep some of it. Note that after deletion, you will lose access to any purchased content or subscriptions (since we won't have your info to verify you). Also, some residual information (like in backups or logs) might not be immediately deleted but will be removed in the normal course of our data retention cleanup.
Right to Withdraw Consent: If we rely on your consent to process any data (for example, if you consented to receive marketing emails or consented to optional cookies), you can withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we did before the withdrawal. If you withdraw consent for something like marketing, we will stop that processing promptly.
Right to Object to Processing: In certain cases, you can object to our processing of your data. For example, if we process your data based on our legitimate interest (such as for direct marketing or for analytical purposes), you can object to that. If you do, we will stop processing your data for that purpose unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue (as permitted by GDPR) or if it's needed for legal claims.
Right to Restrict Processing: You have the right to ask us to limit the processing of your data in certain situations. This could apply if you contest the accuracy of the data (until we verify it), or if you have objected to processing (until we consider whether our legitimate grounds override yours). When processing is restricted, we will still store your data, but not use it except for certain things like consent or legal claims.
Right to Data Portability: For data that you provided to us and which we process by automated means based on consent or contract, you have the right to ask for a copy in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format (for example, a CSV file), and you can ask that we transfer it to another controller where technically feasible.
Non-EU Users: If you are in other jurisdictions, you may have similar rights under your local laws. For instance, users in California have rights under the CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act) to access and delete personal information, among others. We aim to extend fundamental privacy rights to all our users, even if your jurisdiction's laws are not identical to GDPR.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [privacy contact email]. For security, we may need to verify your identity (for example, by asking you to confirm from the email associated with your account or other verification) before fulfilling your request. We will respond to your requests as soon as possible and within any legally required timeframes.
If you request deletion or object to certain processing, note that this may affect our ability to offer you some services. For example, if you ask us to delete all your data, we cannot keep your account active.
Insect Farm Hub is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 without parental consent. If you are under 16, please do not use our Service or provide any personal data. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that data promptly. Parents or guardians who discover that their child has provided us with personal information can contact us and request removal of the information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email (if you have provided one) or by placing a prominent notice on our website prior to the change becoming effective. The "Last Updated" date at the top will always indicate when the latest changes were made. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your data.
Your continued use of Insect Farm Hub after any changes to this Privacy Policy signifies your acceptance of the updated terms (to the extent permitted by law). If you do not agree with any updates, you should stop using the service and you may exercise your rights such as requesting deletion of your data.
